1500 Rebel^® Hurricane

The 3.0L Hurricane straight-six twin turbo engine is the next evolution of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) technology. The firing order, number of main bearings, the crank design, all work together to deliver a smoother, more efficient, and more powerful powertrain. It's the most power-dense package RAM has ever offered. There's more power per litre than the supercharged alcohol-injected HEMI®-powered Dodge Demon 170 — along with the incredible torque on demand that inline designs are known for, as well as superior fuel economy.

The foundation of the Hurricane engine is a deep-skirt cast-aluminium block with structural aluminium alloy oil pan. The strongest RAM engine ever uses cross-bolted steel main bearing caps to contain the robust rotating assembly of a forged-steel crankshaft and forged-steel connecting rods. During manufacturing, the block is deck-plate honed to optimize the cylinder bore shape, which helps improve fuel efficiency.

Each turbocharger in the Hurricane straight-six twin-turb feeds three cylinders. From a performance standpoint, two smaller turbochargers with less inertia spin up faster and deliver boost to the engine at lower rpm than a single, large turbo. The result? The Hurricane twin-turbo flexes its muscle with a broad, flat torque band that sees the engine maintain at least 90% of peak torque from 2,350 rpm all the way to its red line.

Mounted seamlessly and conveniently on the passenger dash, the class-exclusive 10.25-inch Passenger Interactive Display provides information and entertainment for your copilot. The front passenger can use this screen to view navigation, access vehicle cameras, stream shows, play movies during a trip and blast their favourite music via the Uconnect^® 5 system.

The class-exclusive 14.4-inch Uconnect^® can also view detailed vehicle health statistics, multiple camera views and control the in-cabin climate, as well as premium heated and ventilated seats, all from the central touchscreen.

Driver and front passenger seats enjoy a captain’s chair experience with their smart-fold centre armrest, 8-way power-adjustable seats with lumbar adjustment, and 3 levels of heating and ventilation settings.
